The Indiana Pacers have signed their star swingman Paul George to a max contract extension worth $80-90 million over five years - and possibly more if George reaches an escalator clause.
An unnamed NBA scout says he’s convinced George could be a mega-star in the NBA. “He can be a Top 5, maybe even a Top 3 type of player. He still has so much raw talent, and he was a late bloomer so you can see he still plays on instinct sometimes.”
It’s rare to find a young player who can go mano-a-mano with Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James in the playoffs and more than hold his own. George is well-worth a maximum contract extension; a contract which may look like a bargain in only a year or two.
Is George worth a max-extension at the ripe age of 23?
