About me
I am an enterprising artist and musician who graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Fiction Writing. My pursuits have largely included music and songwriting. I am the front man and manager of a band called Marina Orchestra. The band gives me lots of insider information about life in the music industry. I've also been working on producing a podcast, cooking on a budget, learning about history and staying healthy through stagnant winters. I just moved to New Orleans and am anticipating a flurry of newly inspired creativity as I explore this storied city.

Foreign Music Anyone?

About seven years ago I went through a bad break up. Every song I listened to made me way too emotional so I began gravitating towards music sung in foreign languages. I still got the soul of a human voice- ...

Whats the next big ‘thing’ for you?

Recently I've made some major life changes: I wrapped up a five-year creative project, I quit my job and I moved to a new town where I know exactly zero people. This is not the first time I’ve ...

I am an avid runner and usually buy a new pair of running shoes once a year. I also have a pretty crummy back. I see a chiropractor and get massages. As a server, I'm on my feet all ...

@Kevin McCray I had also not considered that story line before. I'm into it though!
@Lauren Boitano I think a lot of what was confusing was when the characters were referencing their backstory that simply wasn't elaborated upon ...

I'm all for that title! I was born in 1985 and remember marveling at that computer game at school. We all gathered around a projector and played the game as a class! It was sort of a special event- ...

Like every facet of modern technology there is thin line between use and abuse. For me I tend to spend about 10-20 minutes a day idly perusing my streams. I only occasionally post something, when I feel like something significant ...

There is something to be said about a good trailer. Whether or not Fury Road will be a hit at least we've been given one hell of a trailer. (I'm talking about the first trailer released at comicon ...

Maybe earth day should be viewed as a time for earth-conscious resolutions and not just one day to be considerate for our only planet...

I commute on my bike as often as possible. I also try to buy as little ...

@Elin Hansen, Great point! Yes, our ancestors have existed for hundreds of thousands of years without sunscreen chemicals. Now suddenly the sun is giving us horrendous skin cancers and we need to buy products to save ourselves. I feel like ...

Our society often mistakes celebrity with intelligence. I think we trust them, because we trust the characters they portray. But how well do we know any of these famous actors? The best insight we can have is to remember that ...

I think the case for religion + art is more applicable for musicians than actors. Actors are being directed and following a script. Musicians usually write their thoughts into a song and there we find hues of religion.
Any sort of ...

Practical effects. That is what I'm looking for. Evidently this BB8 character is 100% a physical prop and not CGI. And it looks amazing. I've been frustrated with many (all) of the blockbuster movie effects relying too heavily ...
